NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J., Nov. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — In an era of stricter compliance requirements for Life Sciences organizations, managing interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs) through meetings and other types of engagements is a critical task. Companies large and small have wrestled with this challenge as their processes have evolved and changed.

Insights into how these challenges are being addressed by Life Science organizations are provided in the Healthcare Professional Meetings and Engagements 2016 Industry Benchmarking Study. Commissioned by AHM, a leading global provider of technology enabled services for the Life Sciences industry, the research was conducted by Penton Research, the parent company of MeetingsNet. There were 115 respondents to the survey, including individuals from many leading Life Sciences industry organizations and the data was gathered in March and April of 2016. The organizations that were surveyed ranged in size, with more than 40% of the respondents from companies with greater than 15,000 employees and more than 80% have a global footprint. There were individual respondents from multiple business lines within these organizations.

Highlights among the findings in the study include:

  • 82% of respondents said increasing their level of compliance was the most important HCP engagement initiative.
  • 41% of respondents said compliance was the biggest challenge in managing HCP meetings and interactions.
  • 72% of respondents said that their biggest challenge in achieving compliance is the use of multiple, disparate systems to track and report on HCP data.
  • 52% of respondents CANNOT track the participation of HCPs globally.

The study also shows that the lack of a single tool to manage all of an organization’s HCP interactions on a national and global basis in addition to the burden of tracking and reporting data on HCP interactions, and the challenges associated with transparency reporting contribute significantly to the difficulty of achieving compliance. To date, fragmented and disparate systems have only added costs while producing information that is often incomplete or inaccurate. Furthermore, any HCP disputes that result from transparency reporting have absorbed an organization’s time and resources and, most critically, have been frustrating for the HCP.

NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J., Sept. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — The challenges of complying with global regulations for the Life Sciences industry when managing healthcare professional (HCP) interactions have been on the rise around the world. That fact has driven AHM, with nearly 20 years of experience as a leading global provider of software and service solutions for the management of HCP interactions, to share its industry knowledge with healthcare organizations across countries and continents.

Healthcare organizations (HCOs) in Europe and other regions around the world are centralizing their HCP interactions management. Europe, particularly, has seen ever-increasing regulatory oversight as a result of the newly implemented European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) Guidelines. EFPIA represents 1,900 European HCOs. These strict regulations have led AHM to bring together trusted experts and opinion leaders to share best practices and compliance solutions for managing HCP interactions at two important upcoming European events in October:

  • First, AHM hosts its third international event, Life Sciences European Compliant HCP Interactions & Risk Mitigation Seminar, on October 4th in Windsor, UK. Industry subject matter experts will share their challenges, best practices and innovative solutions to address complex transparency requirements and the ever-changing HCP compliance landscape. Several solution leaders, including Cvent and Porzio Life Sciences, whose consulting services and compliance tools help Life Sciences companies master the regulatory environment, will deliver key messages on new transparency data and innovative integration solutions that deliver end-to-end compliance solutions for global HCP interactions across all meeting and engagements. This seminar will include thought-provoking sessions around centralization of HCP data, complete global meeting and interactions management, and strategies for simplification of transparency reporting. This event is by invitation only. However, pharmaceutical companies are able to request an invitation here.
  • Second, AHM will be presenting and exhibiting at the 4th annual Pharma Compliance Conference on October 5-6th in London, UK. The conference will bring together senior compliance executives to share experiences and discuss EFPIA guidelines. AHM’s keynote at the general session will define globalization and the key components in shaping a global standard for engaging HCPs within an HCO. Visit the AHM booth to learn more about global HCP meetings management services, the new Cvent linkage capabilities, and to request a CentrisDirectTM demo.

NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J., August 25, 2016 – AHM, a leading global provider of technology and service solutions, assists healthcare organizations (HCOs) manage compliant transfer of value interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs). The latest release of AHM’s technology solution, CentrisDirectTM, represents a unique, robust expansion of support specifically designed to better enable customers to implement compliant management of non-promotional HCP interactions.
Non-promotional interactions with HCPs, such as advisory boards, medical expert panels, individual consulting agreements and steering committees, represent a large percentage of business for the Life Sciences industry.  These interactions are extremely valuable to HCOs due to the scientific exchange of ideas, and the feedback helps HCOs with valuable research and key opinion leader input.
CentrisDirectTM‘s enhancements enable HCOs to more confidently manage and execute consulting engagements involving HCPs from across the globe. “Non-promotional interactions span longer timeframes and can include multiple activities unlike promotional programs, which are more well-defined and short-lasting, single events. These meetings require the need for tight compliance controls and a technology solution allowing all users and stakeholders to work together to manage the end-to-end process,” said Susan Hill, Sr. VP, Global Products & Solutions. “This release truly showcases the comprehensive capabilities of CentrisDirectTM through intuitive, easy-to-use mobile and HCP web portal technology unmatched in the compliant interactions management space.”
Some of the CentrisDirectTM enhanced features include:

  • Enhanced iPad capabilities for end-to-end management of multiple types of non-promotional engagements
  • Features such as approver selection, consultant eligibility and cap, country-specific FMV compensation and contract templates
  • Holistic support for the consultant financial process, including eContracting, electronic invoicing for fees and reimbursable expenses, and payment fulfillment
  • Full visibility into, and reporting on, the total value of a consultant’s contract, including running totals of how much has been invoiced against the contract, how much has been paid, and the remaining balances for each
  • A faster and easier electronic payments module allowing HCP/HCO payment fulfillment via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and Wire Transfer methods
  • Enhanced user experience within AHM’s HCP web portal, CentrisConnectTM, providing speakers and consultants/KOLs quicker access and increased visibility into the key interaction, contract, and financial information they need

These enhancements have generated significant market interest, in the US and internationally, and are now available. Development of the next release is already underway, and targeted for Q4 2016 availability. New Providence, NJ, March 30, 2016 – AHM today announced that it has begun engaging with pharmaceutical companies in China as part of a broader initiative to support the growing compliance needs in the Asia-Pacific region.
China has a complex regime of laws relating to compliance. One recent area of prominence relates to anti-corruption requirements, which are largely embodied in the Anti-Unfair Competition Law and in criminal statutes. The latter puts particular focus on bribery in the public sector, which in China includes many large government-owned enterprises. Under the current Chinese administration, there have been more anti-corruption prosecutions than in the past, meaning those undertaking business in China need to be especially cognizant of compliance concerns, whether in their home country or the People’s Republic.
“Pharmaceutical companies in China have identified the critical need for compliant meetings and event management solutions due to growing regulatory focus and active enforcement measures,” said Nigel Whitehead, CEO of AHM. “We believe that our experience in the US market is resulting in the engagement by our clients to cover an increasing number of international markets such as China”.
AHM will be hosting its first Asia-Pac conference at the Swissotel Grand Shanghai on April 28, 2016 in Shanghai, China. The conference will focus on the compliance challenges faced by pharmaceutical companies and highlight solutions from AHM and its partners. AHM intends to have its first client solution within the Asia Pacific region live by the end of 2016.
For more information on the Asia-Pac conference or on how to attend, please email info@ahmdirect.com.

NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J., Feb. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — AHM will be hosting its 4th Annual Industry Conference on May 11-12, 2016 at the Hilton in Parsippany, NJ. The Conference has become the premier event of the year for Life Sciences companies intent on ensuring compliant healthcare professional (HCP) interactions, with a focus on Meeting and Events. Attracting participants ranging from global pharmaceutical companies to smaller emerging bio-techs, the conference is open to AHM clients and others looking to enhance or upgrade their existing systems, processes and solutions, as well as companies who simply want to learn from their peers.
Since the emergence of the US Sunshine Act, which requires healthcare organizations (HCOs) to be transparent regarding their spending/”transfer-of-value” transactions for HCP interactions, there has been a dramatic increase in efforts to enhance data collection and ensure compliance. The growth in the number of companies operating under Corporate Integrity Agreements (CIA) has also raised these same concerns.
AHM’s Industry Conference is unique because of its comprehensive content; a ‘one-stop-shopping’ experience unavailable at any other event of this kind. The Conference explores the real-world experiences of AHM’s broad customer base, addressing some of the business problems and solutions that come up across the industry, as well as providing sessions focused on innovative solutions in areas such as technology and services from various experts in Life Sciences compliance.

This year’s theme is “Together Toward Compliant HCP Interactions,” and the conference will focus on collaborating and sharing ideas that affect all of the functional divisions within an HCO. The Conference will also be looking beyond US regulations to the challenges involved with global compliance, where AHM has seen significant new interest in the market. Additional topics include:

  • How to Deploy Global Compliance Solutions
  • An HCP Panel on Sunshine Act & Meeting Participation
  • AHM & MeetingsNet Industry Survey Results
  • Client Presentations on Solving Key Speaker Bureau and Compliance Challenges
  • Best Practices for Speaker Bureau & Global Compliance Solutions
  • Enhanced Compliance for Strategic Meeting Management Solutions

AHM’s Industry Conference is exclusively developed for the needs of Life Sciences professionals across medical affairs, compliance, legal, procurement, commercial operations, sales & marketing, information technology and meeting services departments within HCOs. Attendance is on an invitation-only basis. With complimentary registration, targeted discussions, and networking opportunities, the AHM Industry Conference provides valuable knowledge and insights into this growing industry.
